NASA mission to touch the Sun, with the fastest spacecraft in history

The US Space and Aviation Authority (NASA) introduced the spacecraft Parker Solar Probe to the atmosphere of the Sun several months ago.

Designed by NASA's Laurel Lab, the Parker Solar Probe is the closest space vehicle to the Sun.

In 2024, the spacecraft, which is expected to approach the Sun 7 million kilometers, is targeted to make many discoveries.

Designed to study the solar atmosphere, the Parker Solar Probe will go closer to the Sun’s surface than any other spacecraft before it. Things are going to heat up real quick.

It was noted that the names of free applicants via the Internet will be sent to the Sun via a microchip on the spacecraft. Participation in the project named "Hottest Ticket" was announced on April 27, 2018.

It is still a mystery why the interior of the outer wall of the Sun is hundreds of times hotter. The spacecraft, equipped with a carbon composite heat shield, will examine the crown glow, known as the sun's atmosphere, and collect data on how it is warmed up so that it can withstand temperatures up to 1371 degrees.

This is a first for NASA. NASA gave the name of a scientist alive to a spacecraft for the first time.

Contrary to the surface temperature of the Sun which is ~6000 degrees Celsius, its outer atmosphere (the corona) is actually heated up to millions of degrees. And we don’t know exactly why. Such high temperatures result in a release of high energy charged particles (electrons, protons, alpha particles) from the corona, collectively called the solar wind.
